I am an ARTIST now! My website even says so. That must mean it is true.

New Media is the world to me. Art = change in my life. Most of my works try to challenge some kind of cultural meme or have some kind of political charge to it. When people think of "New Media" they have very different opinions of what that means, but for me it just means this single word : change. If I can get someone to think about something differently with something I create, then I feel like I have fulfilled the definition of New Media, not that it is even important to be defined.

The most traditional form of "art" that I partake in is photography. A few years back I started taking pictures outside of the candid context, using different angles, subjects, and lighting. I soon fell in love with capturing these moments in life. I try to reflect emotion as well as thought with my photography, which is why a lot of times I will mix my photography with musical lyrics or interesting titles.

I have just obtained my BA in New Media and heading to Graduate School to obtain an MFA in Intermedia. After taking a few sociology classes I have realized that there are a lot of great discussions that I can use in my art to hopefully cause deeper thinking and even the opening of minds.

Education means about as much to me as New Media does, which is why I am pursuing an MFA. Education opens minds which in turn leads to tolerance which leads to change. Therefore, Education and New Media seem to be the perfect combination to create change in the world.
